Lynne Taylor is an accomplished milliner with a love of teaching others this challenging art.Lynne is a schooled milliner and loves to create new hats and restore old hats. Her new hats are historically inspired, due in part to a long love of vintage fashion. In 1999 while attending a millinery class, Lynne was introduced to costuming via the Greater Bay Area Costumers Guild (GBACG). Since that time she’s developed a love of sewing historical costumes and researching various aspects of the costuming genre. Currently Lynne shares her knowledge and expertise by teaching workshops on millinery and related topics.
Lynne served as the GBACG Workshop Coordinator from 2002 through 2006. She is a member of GBACG and the Sacramento Art Deco Society and attends numerous costumed events each year.
In 2008, she was entered in the Historical Masquerade at Costume Con 26. The group she was in won “Best in Show” with a representation of nine dresses from a painting called “The Empress Eugenie and her Maids of Honor” by Winterhalter 1856. They are now honored as Masters. She and her son along with two cats Lu Lu and Moe reside in Sacramento, California.
